Suggestions
Review all policies to be sure all owned properties, automobiles, recreational vehicles, watercraft etc. are listed for both property and liability coverage. Be sure all drivers are listed.
- Advise if you or your family members have any regularly provided autos such as a company car.
- Advise if any of your autos are operated by drivers who are not members of your household.
- Advise if you own any go carts, all terrain vehicles, self-propelled children’s vehicles, golf carts, etc.
- Advise of any changes in the occupancy of your properties. Change in occupancy including extended vacancy can alter and sometimes void policy coverages.
- Are any properties owned by a Trust, LLC or other entity that should be included for coverage?
- Review limits of coverage for adequacy. Most limits can be increased.
- Pay particular attention to liability including your umbrella limits.
- Review property limits to be sure they comply with replacement provision requiring that property be insured for its replacement value at the time of loss to avoid penalty in the event of a partial or total loss.
- Make sure you have met the minimum primary liability limits required in your excess/umbrella policy.
- Review deductibles for potential savings – higher deductibles reduce premiums.
- Review available discounts for possible additional savings.
