Ed is an active presence in the insurance marketplace, both locally and nationally. He has served on the National Membership of the Independent Insurance Agents of America, several State of Texas Big I committees, and is past President of the Independent Insurance Agents of Houston. He is also an active member of the Council of Insurance Agents and Brokers, a group of the 300 largest Agents & Brokers in the USA. He has served on the Agent Advisory Committees for AIG, Travelers, Hartford, Chubb, EBI/ORION, Texas Mutual, CGU/One Beacon and numerous other carriers.

Ed is currently the President of the Board of the Jewish Community Center of Houston. At the JCC he has chaired Membership & Marketing, Day Camp, The Scholarship Ball and Maccabi Fund Raising. He is a graduate of the Greater Houston Partnerships “Center for Houston’s Future” program.

Ed is married to Betsy Marks Schreiber and they have two daughters. Emily and Jessica. Emily is enrolled at New York University and Jessica is employed by Bain & Company in Boston.
