Catherine began her career in insurance in 1988 beginning with CNA. While there she helped organize the underwriting unit of small workers compensation policies assigned from the risk pool. From there she moved to the Texas Workers Compensation Fund as an underwriter. She came to GEM in 1998.

Since coming to GEM she has moved from the premium side to the claims side of the house. She monitors all claims that come through the agency, analyzes loss reports on commercial accounts and helps negotiate claims settlements when appropriate and possible.

She obtained her Certified Insurance Counselor designation in 2006.
