 Allen Wilson has been managing and insuring risks of loss for over 20 years.  He joined GEM Insurance  Agencies, LP in 1988 and is part owner.  His primary experience and responsibilities are for mid- to large-  size manufacturing, chemical, staffing, and engineering concerns, many of which operate  worldwide.  His expertise includes facilities, workers’ compensation, product liability, contractual  and professional liability, pollution and directors/officers coverages for US and non-US companies.   In addition, he focuses on the various risk management and loss control techniques that reduce overall  long-term costs.

He has gained his expertise through extensive experience as a commercial accounts broker and consultant, working on behalf of numerous corporate clients.  He enjoys the confidence of both insurance company underwriters and that of the public.

Allen has earned his CPCU, Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter designation and his ARM, Associate in Risk Management designation.

He is former President of the Houston Association of Insurance Agents, is a member of the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas and America, the Society of CPCU, Risk and Insurance Management Society and The Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers. 

Allen serves as a board member and 2011 Race Chairman at the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Houston Affiliate and has been one of the top personal and corporate fundraisers.  On Komen humanitarian missions, Allen has spoken for Breast Cancer advocacy in the Egypt and Israel.  He was an assistant Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 599 and attends Memorial Drive United Methodist Church.  Allen is married (Lisa), has two sons ages 22 and 24.   He enjoys sports, reading, politics, traveling, mountain climbing and adventure.
